On a personal note, from me to you, and all the members of Star 240,  Both Pete and I are not upset that you are running for the office of President (because anyone has the priviledge of do so, even myself, but so much mail has been sent on this issue that it is becoming sickening.  This is my opinion, and not my husbands.  Now a suggestion for a secret ballot.  I have no problem with this but I do not, personally, feel that this is necessary.
Whatever the members wish is ok with me and I am sure it will be with Pete.  I am sure that he will go along with whatever everyone wishes.  He just felt that some of the members did not feel that he has done a good job so far, and because he expressed his feelings, he is being attacked.  I realize that he did not respond and talk with everyone on the site, as some of you have been doing, but this does not make him not capable.
We live in a democratic society and I wish the best to whoever is chosen as President for the year 2004.
Thank you all for reading my e-mail because this is the man I am married to.  We, too, have disagreements from time to time, but that is life, and everything can be mended, even personalities.

People I have to speak my mind here because some of the email that I received in
regard to my suggestion, a lot of you like it and there appears to be some of
you that don’t.
      I only made the suggestion that we have a written ballot so that members
would not be pressured into voting other than there choice without ridicule or
resentment. (In short to make life easy)
     Yes this is an democratic society and THEREFORE my suggestion of a written
ballot. I know that ALL THE MEMBERS come from many different backgrounds and
have many ideas. But WE DO NEED A CHIEF AND COMMANDER. I did not intend to
offend anyone by making the suggestion of a written ballot and thought that it
would ease things. I do not want to be president nor am I running please do not
take that the wrong way its not for me ever, it was just a suggestion.
       ALSO I JUST WANT TO REMIND EVERY ONE that this is a touring group NOT A
MC! .
   FURTHER we do ride together maybe not all at once because of careers or family
life but that is what makes us this group without resentment. Some bad some good
please accept that for what it is. I just think that’s all, don’t bash me
because I made a suggestion that I thought would help the members and the group
as a whole.
    My Final words to close with are Opinions are like assholes everyone have
one! This was a suggestion nothing else.

I think you're right. All votes of this sensitive nature should only be by a
private written ballot...

I think, once we know who all the candidates are going to be, we should
probably make up some ballots with all the names on them so that a simple "x
marks the spot" check mark would indicate your vote. No handwriting, etc. to
"incriminate" anyone.

Votes on where to go for clams or ice cream should only require a show of
hands...

...unless there are any owners of ice cream stands or clam bars here in the
group!

Thank you for your kind sentiments.  I too feel the same way but right now I just want to ride because I am very sensitive with all of this back and forth business. I like to ride with you both and look back on that day we all spent together, the day was warm and beautiful, and I had the best time ever.  Have a Happy Thanksgiving. Hi All
I had some time, so I cut and pasted some images together to create a
poster for Star240.
I am also opening a poll on the Yahoo page for a vote on the poster.
The poll question is:
Do you think we should post this kind of poster at places such as,
the dealership, the Anchor, other bike shops, donut shops, etc.

Sometimes it not what you say, it is how you say it and when you talk though e-mail you can not tell how the person is saying it. So, I think people need to sit down and talk things out to stop all this stupid bickering. Where and when is up to you. Either that or just drop it.

Don had a good idea, let's get together some time when it is not an official
meeting but rather a social "gathering".
He suggested Wednesday the 26th.
I think this could be a good time to get together, wish each other a happy
